It is with the greatest pleasure that we introduce these ***STARS*** to you.

Patricia Moldonado
& Barbara Mintz

This month we are fortunate to have not one but two very special stars. Both of these ladies excel in their chosen fields and have been very special in my eyes. They are very supportive and I feel I would like to thank both for that support and their talent and creativity.

Patricia Moldonado:

This very special lady gives us another view of World Dance. Patricia was born in Guatemala City. She received her BS in Guatemala. Her extensive studies helped her form the national & touring Dance Company of Ballet Moderno y Folklorico of Guatemala. She has performed in the USA and Spain, Mexico and South America.

Patricia is an independent dancer-choreographer who continues her works and studies here in San Diego. She teaches workshops in Mexico and locally. Patricia is on the panels for the Tommy Awards sponsored by the San Diego Dance Alliance and also the panel for the selection process of the Nations of San Diego.

Her aptitude for blending the modern with the Folkore is true fusion. She never loses sight of her roots. This lovely lady is a talent to be watched. A true ***STAR***. Her talents are unending. America is proud to welcome Patricia to our shores.

Barbara Mintz:

Barbara Mintz a superstar personified. Barbara’s studies go back to 1982. Where she first studied Balinese dance. This then led her into studying the Odissi style of Indian dance. She achieved her BS in Dance Therapy at New York’s State College, attended Adelphi University, The Juilliard School and The John F. Kennedy University. These dance forms are her life. She has more recently become a certified Pilates Reformer instructor. The blending of her knowledge has allowed her to be one of the most interesting people I know. She is also turning to the study of Argentine Tango since her return to the USA.

Barbara has taught throughout the world. She lectures, teaches workshops and performs. She is also a choreographer of the finest caliber. Barbara is multifaceted. She is a gentle teacher, which allows confidence to shine. She is sensitive to everyone’s needs in a class. She manner and talent with the love of dance brings out the best and she can transport herself and express the spirit of other cultures. She is dedicated and professional in all matters and a person of very high integrity.

As well as being a performing artist, Barbara is also a visual artist. Her "Legong Pelayon Condong is a book that describes in detail, through sketches and words the dance of Legong that she learned in Bali. Divine Play is a coloring book for all ages.  She completed this book of Goddesses and Gods of India while there studying at the ancient temple of Orissa, India. Barbara was also commissioned to make a mosaic at the Seniwati Art Gallery in Abud, Bali, Indonesia.

We are so lucky to have an artist like Barbara in our town. We are also lucky to be able to have her affiliated with our studio. To learn more about this ***STAR*** check out her website at www.rightangle.com/bhava. Thank you Barbara for being our friend and supporter.
