Raks el Anwar is a very special and elite group of people. They are chosen for their dance expertise and their personalities. There comes a dedication with being a professional dancer that no other job or profession can claim.

1. You have to be dedicated.
2. You have to be willing to learn. It is a continuous learning experience.
3. You have to be willing to go the extra mile both with yourself and for your peers.
4. We use our bodies as our instrument and it is never perfect.
5. Be willing to always go the extra mile and put others first. Be it your audience or fellow performers.

The members of Raks El Anwar are all of this and more. Yes, It is a lot of work! No one ever is still!
  This year not only have the group done a bang up job of performing but also teaching. Five members are certified R.A.I.S. Teachers and have taken their expertise into the community. This with all the hard work creates an educational benefit for all students who come in contact with them.
  The audiences who see this group see a group that is together not only in steps but also in spirit. They bring the essence of the culture to whatever country or area is being represented. The audiences are put into a different world. Not All fantasy but real life. The village or tale comes alive.
  This has been a very busy year for the directors. There has been so much traveling done by both Morwenna & Walid that it is exhausting. Next year promises to be even busier. Sometimes dreams and ambitions do not come a quickly as we wish. We are  only two people trying to impart our love for this dance form to others. These dancers are the best and we give our hearts to the members. THANK YOU for 2005 and 2006.
May 2007 see us climb another rung on the ladder.
